Long-COVID Symptom Relief

Using Stellate Ganglion Block (SBG)

Roughly 40% of people who have had COVID-19 have suffered long-term effects, according to a University of Michigan study. Recently researchers have turned to a procedure that has been in use since the 1920’s that may reduce many long-term symptoms of COVID-19, called the Stellate Ganglion Block.

The procedure takes less than 15 minutes, and allows patients to “reboot” their body by reestablishing the relationship between the nervous and immune systems.

A Fix For Long Term Symptoms

Common Questions about Stellate Ganglion Block

By using a local anesthetic in the anterior region of the neck, targeting cervical sympathetic chain activity, a Stellate Ganglion Block allows for the body to reboot the autonomic nervous system by reducing fight or flight responses for roughly 24 hours.

The procedure is generally complete within 5-15 minutes.

While SGB is still a new treatment for long-COVID symptoms, studies have shown that SGB often last for a few months to a few years.
