What Should I Ask at a Freedom PNS Consultation?

A Freedom PNS consultation should help you understand the cause of your pain and compare treatment options. Bring your history and a short list of activities you want to do more comfortably. You do not need to decide on an implant before meeting the team.
What to bring
- A medication list and information about allergies or past procedures.
- Relevant scans or reports and notes about what treatments helped and for how long.
- A description of your pain: location, duration, triggers, sensations, and effect on sleep or movement.
- Details of other implants and any upcoming imaging or medical procedures.
Questions about the decision
- Which nerve do you think is involved, and what supports that diagnosis?
- What alternatives should I consider, and why might Freedom PNS fit my situation?
- How will we judge the trial, and what happens if it does not help enough?
- What risks and contraindications apply to me?
- What recovery restrictions and device-care steps will I need to follow?
- Which wearable would I use, and who will train me?
- How often will follow-up occur, and whom do I contact about problems?
Health conditions to mention
Tell your physician about cardiac implants, infection, blood thinners, pregnancy or nursing, and difficulty operating equipment. Mention work or treatment that involves strong electromagnetic fields or diathermy. Ask for the complete product safety information and individualized advice.
Check coverage before scheduling
Ask the office and insurer to verify coverage, prior authorization, and expected out-of-pocket costs for the trial, implant, accessories, and follow-up. Do not assume that another patient’s coverage applies to your policy.
