What Happens During a Freedom PNS Trial and Implant?

A Freedom PNS trial helps you and your physician evaluate therapy before deciding on a permanent implant. Your care team reviews your history, physical and psychological well-being, and treatment goals first. You and your physician review the trial results together. Long-term relief varies.

1. Complete your patient profile

The Curonix brochure begins with a patient profile. Bring a medication list, previous procedures, relevant imaging, symptoms, and the everyday activities pain limits. Tell your team what has helped, for how long, and what has not.

2. Have an assessment

Your team assesses the possible nerve source and the effect pain has on your life. A physical and psychological assessment helps determine candidacy. Discuss alternatives, risks, and whether you can manage the external equipment.

3. Try the therapy

During the temporary trial, follow your team’s instructions for activity, wound care, and equipment. Track pain and practical changes such as sleep or movement. The team determines the trial duration and how success will be measured. Do not assume that another patient’s trial schedule applies to yours.

4. Discuss the trial results

If the trial provides satisfactory benefit, you can discuss permanent implantation. Ask about the procedure, anesthesia, recovery, and follow-up. If the trial does not help enough, your physician can review other approaches.

5. Learn your permanent system

After implantation, your Curonix representative helps size your wearable. The care team teaches system use and provides personalized instructions and ongoing support. Follow your prescribed recovery restrictions and ask whom to contact about wound changes, device issues, or uncomfortable stimulation.
