What Is Daily Life Like with Freedom PNS Wearables?

Freedom PNS uses a wearable accessory over clothing to hold an external transmitter and antenna. These external components power and communicate with the implanted stimulator. Your care team and Curonix representative help you learn how to position and use the equipment.
Wearable options
The supplied collection includes extremity, torso, and upper-torso options. Images show belts, straps, and a magnetic clip on models, along with the antenna pouch and transmitter. These are examples of available designs; your team determines the accessory and fit appropriate for your prescribed system.
Learning to use the equipment
Your team sets up therapy and teaches you how to operate the system, position the antenna, and charge and care for the external equipment. Ask for a demonstration and practice with the team before using it independently. Use the position shown by your team for your device. A photograph cannot show the right placement for every patient.
Activity after implantation
Placement is typically outpatient, but healing still takes care. Ask when you may lift, bend, exercise, bathe, swim, drive, work, and sleep in your usual position. Your physician provides individualized instructions; the lifestyle images do not establish a recovery timeline.
Questions to ask before going home
- Who should I call if stimulation is uncomfortable or the system is not working as expected?
- How should I care for the incision and when is my follow-up appointment?
- How long and when should I use therapy each day?
- What equipment precautions apply to water, travel, security screening, other medical procedures, and my workplace?
Tell all healthcare providers about the implant. Before an MRI, the team must check the exact system and scan conditions. Trial devices are MR Unsafe, and external transmitter equipment must remain outside the MRI room.
